Week 18
How far along? 18 weeks
Estimated due date: October 25, 2012
Gender: Sweet baby Boy!
Total weight gain: adding this in here since I’m finally starting to put on some weight. Up about 7 lbs.
Symptoms: None really besides occasional heartburn. Oh and lots of “wind”.
Movement: Occasional flutters. Still questioning whether some are gas or baby, but I have felt some stronger kicks than I ever have before.
The bump: I’d say it grew a little bit this week. It feels like it’s taking forever for me to look obviously pregnant. I’m wondering when I’m going to actually “pop”.
Maternity clothes: Just maternity jeans and shorts. I did buy a maxi dress last weekend that I’m looking forward to wearing. They’re so comfy!
Belly button in or out? Adding this in here this week as well. I’ve noticed my belly button is more shallow. I stuck my finger in there this week and it didn’t go as deep as usual.
Miss anything? I miss having the occasional glass of wine after work. It’s all worth it though!
Sleep: Sleep is good. Just getting up to use the restroom is annoying.
Cravings: Still wanting fruity candy. Oh and I had a craving for some salty chips as well.
Mood: Happy most of the time. I was extra cranky and moody this week. I just felt like I was in a bad mood more than usual. Ever have one of those weeks where every little thing gets to you? Yeah, that was me this week.
Best moment of this week? Feeling a couple of stronger baby kicks.
What are you looking forward to? Looking forward to the three day weekend! Finally a Monday off!
And for fun. Here are my bump photos for the second trimester so far.
To me it doesn’t really look like my bump has grown much since 14 weeks. It’s definitely bigger than it was at 14 weeks. I feel like it’s not really growing out much, but more up and over, if that makes sense. I’m taller (5’9”) so I’m thinking that’s the reason it really hasn’t popped out yet. Baby has more room vertical!

Nursery Progress
So we didn’t start painting like I had hoped, but we did get the carpet ripped up. Oh and we changed our mind about what room we wanted to convert into the nursery. We decided to move our office into the guest bedroom and make our office the nursery since it was the room closest to our bedroom. Here are the before photos.
And now what it looks like now with the carpet gone.
Next step is installing electrical for a ceiling fan and then painting then new carpet. I want to paint the walls a light gray and do all white furniture. I’m drawing my inspiration from this fabric.
I love the gray and blue and I want to add touches of zoo animals. I want him to be able to grow into his room and for it to not to scream baby. Here are some nurseries I’m inspired by:

Week 17
How far along? 17 weeks
Estimated due date: October 25, 2012
How are you feeling? Feeling pretty good this last week. It’s so nice not to feel sick anymore. I actually ate some chicken this week for the first time in 3 months and it was delish. I also feel like I’ve been hungrier the last day or two. Maybe baby is going through a growth spurt?
Gender: Bouncing baby BOY!
Movement: Just the occasional flutters. I can’t wait until Jack can feel them.
The bump: My belly grew a little this week. I definitely notice it sticking out a little more. And more and more people are commenting on how I’m starting to show. I love my little bump. I rub it all the time and talk to the little guy in there.
Maternity clothes: Still just the maternity jeans. I bought some shorts and capris at Motherhood last weekend. I’m looking forward to trying those out this weekend.
Sleep: Sleep is good. Just getting up to use the restroom is annoying.
Cravings or aversions? I’ve been craving fruity candy. I mostly want Skittles and fruity Mentos. I’m trying not to give into it, but I admit I’ve had both of those in the last couple of weeks.
Mood: Happy most of the time. Occasional bouts of moodiness.
Best moment of this week? Finding out that we’re having a boy!
What are you looking forward to? The weekend and finally getting started on the nursery.

Bump Progression
Here is my bump progress thus far. I was really inspired by this pregnancy progression done by the girl at Simply Bloom Photography. That’s kind of what I’m going for with my weekly bump photos. Mine probably won’t turn out as pretty, but I’m so happy with the way they’ve turned out so far. My 14 week and 16 week look the same, but I was probably trying to stick it out more at 14 weeks. Now it just sticks out on its own and I love it.

Week 16
I just got back from my checkup with my OB. Baby’s heart was nice and strong. I was anxious to hear when we could do our anatomy scan to find out what we’re having. He said we could do a gender reveal scan before the anatomy scan! It’s only $50, so why not? It’s scheduled for May 15th! That’s only 4 days away! eeeeek! I can’t wait. Especially since I thought I was going to have to wait 4-5 weeks more.
How far along? 16 weeks 1 day
Estimated due date: October 25, 2012
How are you feeling? Feeling so good now that I feel normal again. Allergies have got me down this week. Hope those don’t stick around for too long.
Gender: We’ll find out Tuesday!
Movement: I felt a few more flutters this week. I really have to be sitting still to notice them, but it’s so cool! I can’t wait until they’re stronger.
The bump: Still just a little bump. It’s not getting much bigger from week to week. I feel like my 14 week bump shot looks bigger than my 16 week one. People who know I’m pregnant are commenting on it. :)
Maternity clothes: Wearing the maternity jeans and loving them. I’m on the hunt for shorts and capris this weekend and possibly a bathing suit.
Sleep: Sleep is good. Just getting up to use the restroom is annoying.
Cravings or aversions? Not really craving anything in particular.
Mood: Super happy! I feel like I’m just beaming with happiness some days. It’s awesome.
Best moment of this week? My checkup today and getting to schedule a gender reveal scan!
What are you looking forward to? Gender reveal scan! And Mother’s Day. I’m hosting brunch at our house for our mothers. Should be a lot of fun.
And here’s a bump photo with my sweet dog Sadie.

Week 15
I’m slacking this week with my update. I didn’t even have time to snap a photo. I’m officially calling the end of my morning sickness. I feel human again, and it feels wonderful. I’m starting to get into nesting mode. We have a ton of projects we want to get done around the house.
This is the room that we plan to turn into the nursery. The photo on the left is what it looked like yesterday, but we’ve since gotten rid of the bed. The photo on the right is what it looks like today. It’s out temporary office until we can redo the office.
This is what out office is looking like now. See we discovered that when it rains, it puddles up so high outside that water was seeping into our office. So now Jack is going to fix our drainage issues outside and we’re going replace the carpet in here and paint. We’ve listed the large L shaped desk on Craigslist and we’ve ordered a much smaller desk from Walmart to go in here. So yeah, now the nursery is our temporary office until we can finish this room. THEN we can finally get started on the nursery. The paint and carpet in here were the choosing of the previous owners, so I can’t wait to fix it up to our style.
How far along? 15 weeks 3 days
Estimated due date: October 25, 2012
How are you feeling? Morning sickness is over! I feel like my old normal self again. I have way more energy. I haven’t thrown up in over a week and I’m not sensitive to smells anymore. I feel like I can take on the world!
Gender: I’m feeling boy. Hopefully we’ll find out soon!
Movement: I feel little flutters everyday. I’m still not 100% sure they’re the baby though. They feel like muscle spasms or popcorn popping in my tummy. I can’t wait until they become more noticeable.
The bump: I have a nice little bump going on. People who know me notice it, but I still feel like I don’t look pregnant yet.
Maternity clothes: I’m now only wearing my maternity jeans. So much more comfortable. I want to get some shorts and capris for the summer.
Sleep: Sleep is good. Just getting up to use the restroom is annoying.
Cravings or aversions? No cravings or aversions. I still haven’t got up the guts to try chicken again.
Mood: Happy! I get more and more excited with each passing week.
Best moment of this week? A nice Sunday spent with my husband. We went out to lunch and then watched The Avengers.
What are you looking forward to? My doctors appointment on Friday. I’m hoping we get to schedule our anatomy scan and hopefully get to find out what we’re having!
